Description

Aerodynamics and Acoustics Facility (AAF) at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is looking for a high caliber candidate to fill the position of Assistant Technical Officer (ATO) to work with the team.  Housing Hong Kong’s largest low-noise wind tunnel and acoustic testing chambers, AAF has been developing new and exciting aerodynamic and acoustic testing capabilities.

Job Duties

  • Provide technical assistance to related faculty members and research staff/students.
  • Render technical assistance to ensure smooth operation of the facility, for example by performing maintenance and procuring equipment related to the laboratory’s activities.
  • Assist the AAF engineer in monitoring the laboratory safety in compliance with the University’s safety regulations.

Requirements

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree/higher diploma/higher certificate in mechanical engineering or a diploma/certificate in mechanical engineering with 1 year of post-qualification working experience in mechanical or acoustic engineering.  Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua) is required.  Experience in mechanical, aerospace, or acoustic fields are strongly preferred. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
